Needing better instructions
Greg Holmes, Saratoga
Product represents good value and seems to function well, however the set-up / programming instruction booklet is very brief and fails to outline the process very well. I needed to play around with it a fair bit to finally work it out. Overall I'm happy with it.

Save Your Money
Roger Matthews, Glenbrook
You only get what you pay for has never seen a better example than with this piece of junk. Basically the heart-rate monitor is a random number generator, the computer switches itself off whilst you're riding along and the odometer stopped working after a couple of months. It now lays 10 feet under at the local tip! Oh and the instruction manual is the worst "Chinglish" you'll ever read - gives you a good laugh, though. Spend your money on something better.

Good Value,... But....
Heath Robertson, PERTH
Like the old adage... you get what you pay for....
I got this item because it was feature packed... it installed in about 20 - 30 minutes and in initially ran faultlessly.... Except for needing a set of batteries.
A bumped bike in the hallway ended in the broken mount which can't be ordered seperately. Glued ok though...
Sometimes the Heart rate would not show and sometimes it would show plus 240 b/m????
But otherwise great for the first six months...
The with the first few winter rides the cadence stopped being shown... and a little later the Heartrate was less consistant and then the screen display disappeared about the 1 year mark... And so I got just over 12 months from the unit and now its been replaced.
Hope the new model is better.... Good Luck

Excellent MTB computer, Superb value for money
Alan Tuck, Reservoir
I had the wired version, had a lot of problems with that (bracket connections and other issues) so I replaced it with this. Negatives: forget about getting easy trip/lap times, you have to hold the button down for about 3 secs to zero the unit (both HR and speed sides - they're largely independent) I've also had it fall off the bracket once, luckily I found it again. Backlight chews way too much power (buttons don't work while it's on) can be deactivated. Sound gives a beep every hour (annoying when your bike's in your bedroom) can be deactivated. Otherwise, this is excellent unit if what you want is a unit to display current values, I usually leave it on HR% and distance. You can program about 5 different target HR zones. Very adjustable Bracket, I have my display in front of the bar, so I can turn the bike over without worrying about scratches.

Good Value
Michael Baldwin, MALVERN EAST
Good value, but the wheel sensor is a little bulky and ugly. It would be good if it could be mounted on the rear wheel but mine didn't work properly when I tried this. Apart from that it is pretty cheap, does have a heart rate monitor and good enough for commuting and general riding purposes.

Good computer - tricky set up
Rob Salvatore, Altona Meadows
Have to agree that the user manual is a bit dodgy. It took a bit of deciphering and decoding to understand how to set up the various functions... but I got through it.
I found the wheel sensor and transmitter to be a bit sensitive to set up. It took some time to get it close enough to record 20km/h speeds. I needed to mount the transmitter low so the spoke magnet was relatively close. I have only had one glitch since installing the unit which was a 199km/h max speed.
My unit plays up when you have the back light feature on - the speed drops back to zero when the backlight turns off, so I've turned this feature off. Also the total ride ODO reads in hundreds - the last two smaller digits count off 99km then click back to zero again. I didn't gain that understanding from the manual.
On the heart monitor side, I have no idea how the target zone feature works! The manual is no help - and it seems to be an important function! So frankly I'm not sure how that side of the unit works (I'd appreciate someone writing up a how to for the heart monitor side of things! robsalvv AT yahoo DOT com)
I can only monitor my heart rate when I hold the chest transmitter/sensor hard up against my body... not sure if it's the hairy chest or carrying a stone of weight. So that means I'm only using the heart monitor to spot check my heart rate.
Overall, the key numbers are large and clear.
I look forward to getting the heart monitor side working so that I can get maximum value from the computer.

Great value
Paul Davison, Perth
Unlike one of the previous writers I have had mine for over a month and had no problems at all (unless you call shaving a bald patch on a hairy chest for the heart monitor).
Very stable bracket and large display with calorie consumption is very hand to see what energy you have used.
Instructions are not the best but simple diagrams help in putting the parts together.
Excellent value for money.

Could be better.
Steve S, LANE COVE NORTH
I've had this computer on my bike for about 200kms.
Negatives: + Needed to replace the batteries in the first week. + The computer frequently misses a revolution of the wheel. The result is a speed reading that sometimes fluctuates. + I don't trust the distance travelled because of the above missed readings.
Positives: + Big screen is easy to read. + The heart rate monitor is great.
Recommendations: + I'd recommend the wired version of the same computer in the hope that it would have more accurate speed readings.

Unbeatable price
Anthony Hocking, Melbourne
Its really hard to find another computer with so many functions available at once, AND a heart rate monitor. And when you consider the price, there's no reason to buy anything else. Works great.

Great value for money
Frank Nyhuis, Ferny Creek
Wanted a wireless computer that had Heart rate as well, and the only ones from Cateye of Sigma are upwards of $150AU, so I thought I'd give this one a go. Easy to set up on the bike, and after a little confusion with the instructions, got everything working on the right settings - both speed/distance functions and Heart rate side of things seem to work perfectly, so I figure buying this one on special, I got myself an absolute bargain. Just make sure you use Locktite on the bracket screws, as they can get a bit of a shake happening, but I managed to tighten mine before it fell off!

Great Computer - Fantastic value
Dean G, Brisbane
Was hesitant to buy on-line as I found little written about the Union computer brand. 2 weeks and 200+ kms in and has turned out to be a great purchase so far.
Good clarity, easy set-up, both the cycle and heart rate features work excellent - May not have the screen clarity or style of more 'expensive' brands but it's certainly great value for the amount of features.
Very speedy dispatch to Aus but slow to deliver once in country.
