Heart rate monitor doesn't work for me either
David Zucaro, Ferndale
This computer is a nice simple unit with big display. The cable to the unit is much thicker than typical units making it a lot more obvious.
Heart rate monitor just seemed to be reading random heart beats. Would go wildly high then extremely low. No use at all.

Cycle Computer
Mark Walker, HAMPTON
Easy to fit. Easy set up and operate. User manual difficult to understand and it doesn't explain what all the functions are (most are obvious but some less so to a layman like me). Also it attaches securely on to the mount (which was a failing of my last one!)

Good for the Money
Damien Viero, COOMERA
Took a little to set up but once that's done it works a treat. For the money, this is a great entry into HRM and Cycle Computer training. Can't set max heart rate - it's done by the formula 220 - your age....
Other than that, it's been great!

Don't do it!
Damian smith, Ashgrove
Purchased this one because it was significantly cheaper than the polar CS100 when it was on sale, and had similar features.
The manual is useless, and the HR function doesn't work properly... so just using the unit to check speed.
Will be replacing it with the CS100 ASAP.

Frustrating. But good for the price
Alan Tuck, REServoir
Ok, maybe I got a slightly dodgy one, had it for 8months. First the plusses, Big display, excellent mount (I've got mine in front of and below my H-bar) Price of course.
Minuses: The HR button didn't work out of the box, but some very hard pressing started it up again. Both the setting buttons on the bottom were difficult to get responses from. Dodgy connection with the speed sensor, it only worked about 70% of the time. Every time I got so fed up with it that I'd decide to return it, it would start working consistently... annoying. I sweat lots, once my chest had a film of sweat on it, the HR stopped working. No way to measure lap time, you can zero it by pressing a button for 3 secs, but that's too long on the trail. (it's on my MTB). Just broke the bracket on a tree.
Summary: When it was working, it was great for displaying what you were currently doing and not much else. I'd get another one, if it was the fully wireless version. I ride a PolarCS200cad on my road bike, but the Union was less than half the price of a Polar mounting bracket/speed sensor kit

great for the price
ian carter, Box Hill
I am very happy with unit. It has big digits for displaying speed and pulse rate. It has a light which possibly could be a bit better. It also has a smart bracket which doesn't get in the way of your hands on the handlebars. I don't think you'd get a better bargain for a speedo with a heart rate monitor.

Good Value
Troy Simpson, Williamtown
For the price, can't go wrong! The manual is a little cryptic, but really just standard watch/computer reset type functions. Only complaint would be the night light...duration too short, and viewing angle difficult. Recommended for functions and quality!

Value for money
Gavin Chester, Watson
This gets 5/5 because how else are you going to get a HRM and bike computer for this price. It takes about 5 minutes to work out how to change the functions and settings but I didn't find it too hard. Just remember there are 4 buttons, two on the back to get into the edit fields for wheel circumference, etc, and the two on the sides to actually change the numbers.
It's a bit big which some people think make it look funny but who really cares for this price.

Tones of features & easy on the pocket!
A Brindley, Brisbane
The manual is cryptic and almost non-existent! BUT look online for the standard computer installation and you'll be trouble free! Works great! Gotta love those manuals directly translated into English! Always a good read! The price is what really makes this computer!

Great value
Jim Houston, Brisbane
Unbelievable value. I have had two. Very reliable with the HR. But annoying as it keeps scrolling through rather than continually read out the heart rate. No stop watch facility. Looks like a big screen on the bars and easy for the visually impaired to read.

Worth the price & frustration!
Khanh Do, WILLIAMSTOWN
Set up is frustrating - particular trying to change m/h to km/h. Note that only the heart rate monitor is wireless and not the computer itself; so you still have to wrap the wire around brake cables. I only found that out after opening packet. The wires are thicker than normal so they're a bit more obvious. Having said that, the computer works very well. Recommended for the price.

Great computer, with all the right functions, including back light. I found the installation/ set up a bit confusing but once its in there its great. The buttons are also a little hard to press. The strap is comfy too. For the price you can't go wrong.
