Buy the NIGHTPRO Nightsport-Star Light System instead
Dave Rowell, Canberra
I had a NIGHTPRO Nightsport-Star Light System which was great, but the wire snapped at the light so I decided to get a TIOGA 15W Dual Beam Bicycle Headlight to replace it. I chose this because the batteries are lighter, last as long or longer, and the dual beam feature looked good. That was a mistake. The 5 watt beam is too dim to be of much use, so I need to use the 10 all the time anyway, and turning on the 5 as well adds little, but drains the battery quicker. So I was better off with the Nightsport-Star light one. In addition, the clamp for the dual beam light is fiddly and takes a while to get on, and needs to be readjusted if used on a different bike. The star light one snapped instantly onto bars of any size. In addition, the separate switch for the high beam (which is unnecessary; see above) comes with a Velcro strap that is too short to go around my bars (they are just standard bars with the break cable bound in). Finally, the charger (which does not match the specs on the box) doesnt have a light on it to tell if it is running properly. So if you want to buy one, my advice is to get the NIGHTPRO Nightsport-Star Light System instead.

Very reliable after 12 months use
Bill Frost, Gordon
I bought a set of these from Torpedo7 a year ago. I've used them for commuting and a few night time descents of Canberra's Black Mountain (average gradient of around 10%).
I'm very happy with them and would recommend them. They're solid and reliable and seem to last their claimed battery time. Charging is easy and they have a good beam. I supplement them with a Luxeon helmet light for steeper descents but for commuting they're more than adequate.
The only minor annoyance is that the factory didn't tighten the securing screws as tight as they should have so my first two or three rides were disappointing. Once I tightened up the mounting screws, I've not had to touch them since.
Overall, I am pleased with these lights.
Cheers,
Bill
