It’s been said before and it’l be said again: wider is better, especially when we’re talking about Shimano’s Ultegra 6700 Rear Derailleur. Wider shift plates inhibit flex while shifting under load, so you don’t miss gears when you’re hammering out the final 200-metre sprint. The 28-tooth capacity may not make you love those 15% climbs, but at least you have the power to attack when your opponents least expect it.

SHIMANO Ultegra Front Derailleur 10 Speed - FD-6700
Improving on an already beautiful front derailleur, Shimano came back this year by redesigning spring tension for the Ultegra FD-6700. Downshifting is now feather-light, so you can think about suffering up the climb rather than trying to grab a less-painful gear. Couple the FD- 6700 with 6700-series STI Shifters and trim adjustment becomes easy in either the big or smallring, so your buddies won’t complain about that annoying noise coming from your drivetrain.
