Thinsulate insulation
Thinsulate insulation provides 1 ½ times the warmth of down and nearly twice the warmth of other high-loft synthetic insulations when equal thicknesses are compared.
Waterproof
A technically innovative dual-layer, micro-porous coating that wicks away moisture. An item can be classed as waterproof when it resists water to a certain level. They measure this in column water pressure. Literally they fill a column up with water, and whatever level it reaches before the water forces its way through the fabric will define its level of water resistance. Legally a garment must reach 1000mm in the column to be deemed waterproof.
Breathability
A garment is classed as breathable when it allows your perspiration to escape. This is especially importantin waterproof items, as you do not want to get wet from the inside where your moisture vapour is trapped. Breathability is measured by calculating the amount of escaped moisture vapour per meter per hour.
