A stretch waffle knit covers the back of the hand and the tops of the first three fingers, while the pinky (which lives in that dangerous zone near the end of your bars) gets a strong dense knit for protection. The first two (brake lever) fingertips get an Almara (pseudo leather) covering, to match the Almara palm. The cutaway cuff is stretch, and there is Almara reinforced terry cloth on the thumb for face wiping. The palm is reinforced but not padded, so you retain complete feel of your grips, important on a mountainbike. The palm is also perforated for ventilation.
