Torpedo7 Recommends:
- You buy 3 x rechargable AA batteries and a battery charger so you don’t chew through standard batteries
- You buy the Aurora Helmet Mount Combo Accessory so you can use the Aurora for all sorts of outdoor activities.
Please note: The main beam produces 100 Lumens of light, comparably the Blackburn X8 dual light has 2 x 85 Lumen LED’s which are roughly equivalent to 15 Watt Halogen bulbs. 100 Lumens should be sufficient for off-road riding but please do a little research first into Lumen ratings for off-road lights if this is to be your primary headlight for off-road riding.

Outstanding value
Leon Hill, GAYTHORNE
I have been using this light for about a month on my daily commute, and over the weekend I used it as my bar light for a 24hr MTB race in atrocious conditions. The light performed flawlessly throughout, and throws a lot of light, so much so that I actually never put it on high beam at all during the race (although I did have a helmet light on as well). While I'm commuting it throws a lot of light in urban situations and on the dark bike paths I ride, and I do like the low power flashing LED mode to save battery power when I'm in situations with a lot of ambient light. The quick release mount is sturdy and hasn't budged, and I do like the low battery indicator so I can stay on top of charging before I run out of light.
My only criticism is that the bolts were a little loose when I got the unit, but a quick application of loctite and re-tighten has firmed the mounting up lightly. This light is great value for road or MTB riding.

Nightpro Aurora LED 3 watt
Chay Granger, Ascot Vale
Bloody bargain, 3 watt LED. Lights up great, I got this one on a weekly special and I'm kicking myself I didn't buy 2. Much more economic than the halogen bulbs. There's a few tricks to get it going. 2 short pushes on the button to get it started, 1 long push to switch lights, 1 more long push to turn off.

Excellent value light
Samuel Ho, Wantirna South
Purchased these lights for commuting. Gives a fairly concentrated beam but has good surrounding radiance, lights up the road ahead approx 2meter diameter at an approx distance of 8-10M but gives adequate light to the surrounding. Perfect for commuting as I generally ride on familiar roads. Only little quibble is that you can't have both the 3W and 3 small LEDs on at the same time, I've used it a number of times on the same set of batteries that were supplied (approx 2.5 hours) and its still going strong. Will get some high capacity rechargeable AA batteries for it though.

Nightpro Aurora LED
Paul Christiansen, Canning Vale
After my own user error, am now sold on this light. I commute 52kms a day and am using this light every day for an hour.
It has a very useful swivel head for side to side and up/down adjustment. Velcro straps for battery park are sturdy. Light has proven itself waterproof/resistant thus far. 3x AA batteries have long life and I'm using rechargeable batteries for it.
Highly recommended (4 stars)

Best light so far
Michael Bothe, Kenmore
For the money this little beauty is all I need for my road biking. Solid light casing and easy to attach velcro strap battery pack, best under stem. However cable could have been a couple of inches longer. Attaching the pouch to the top tube stretches the cable. The light gives a good clear beam which certainly goes further than anything I had on my bike so far.
Very pleased with it and hope it lasts a long time.
