NIGHTPRO Stellar 3w High Power LED
$139.99
The Nightpro Stellar is a bike light with a difference, made from CNC aluminum offering ultimate high strength-to-weight ratio. This IC- bonded light has exclusive 4 function control which offers versatile light intensities in high power mode, and 3 lamp LEDs in low power mode with steady as well as flashing when warning is needed. The Stellar offers a bright white beam to light up the road ahead and warn other road users of your presence. The versatile handlebar mount easily attaches to any diameter of round handlebar including O/S 31.8mm bars, and features a quick release attachment allowing you to remove the light system for security. - Main Source: The most advanced Luxeon 3W high power white LED’s accompanied with optical design is adopted to make the unmatchable light beam.
- Lens size: 30mm
- Sub-source: 3 Lamp type LEDs provides steady and flashing.
The on-body low power indicator signals the options to lower power settings when the battery power is getting low. Burn time for the Stellar is from 5 hours on the main source to 13 hours for the sub source. The battery is included and is carried in a fabric pouch suspended below the top tube of the frame and secured around the down-tube with a Velcro strap.

Great light for a good price
Campbell Taylor, BRISBANE
I ride too and from work everyday. This light serves exceptionally well as a commuter. I use blink in the mornings and the light at night. Just wish they had a combination setting to use both. Super bright beam, need to aim high as it can be distracting. Certainly scares the hell out of cyclists ahead.

Pretty good for the price
Noel Lim, HOMEBUSH WEST
Bought on special, I think for $189 it would be a little steep (I'd rather get the Niterider as mentioned in Lorant's review).
Pros: - good value on Special. - Its perfect for commuting, lights up the path enough, could be more, but unless you're riding in pitch dark, its enough in the streets. - the backup 3 lights is pretty good, I use that during the day or when the main runs out - limp home.
Bad: - the battery mounting is horrendous, it really could be better. Don't even think about moving it to another bike. - the flash on the 3-light is a bit slow.
Battery life seems to be fine. Also the warning on my lights seem to come up a bit late (like when it dies), but I suspect that's due to the battery needing to go through a few charges to get up to normal capacity.
Overall - worth the money on Special if you're commuting - does it's job well enough, and the backup concept's O.K for limping home. If you want absolute ease of use think about the MiNewt USB, easier to mount/move to another bike and charge off the PC.

Not bad for the price
Lorant S, Melbourne
I purchased two of these lights over a year ago - the first for ~$175, and the second for a bit less. I wouldn't pay that much for them now, but for the special price of ~$120 they're probably a reasonable deal.
* The 3W LED provides just enough light to ride on unlit streets at night. * The claimed 3 hour battery life is probably accurate. (although one batteries seemed to have a shorter life than the other). * Mounting the battery is a bit fiddly - it's fine once you get it on, but it's a pain if you have to take it on and off frequently. * The three 'supplementary' LEDs aren't particularly bright, and the flash is quite slow. I don't bother with them and just use a separate blinky. * One of the lights stopped working properly after a bit more than a year (and very little use as it was only a backup light) - it's now only as bright as my cheap 1/2 watt blinky.
Summary: For $120 or less it's probably a reasonable deal, but if you ride at night frequently or can save up a bit more I would go for something like the NiteRider MiNewt Mini USB.
