In Macpac’s 6th Sense™ soft shell range, you’ll find the insulation value of fleece, wind-blocking technology and water repellency to light rain and snow. In Macpac’s New Zealand, a day that begins with a dry, dusty nor’wester could finish in a cloud of driving snow. Such unpredictable weather, paired with an active lifestyle, has shaped people who are quick to adapt. Macpac’s designers have translated this unique Kiwi instinct into 6th Sense™ - a range that offers protection and comfort for four seasons in one day.
The Active Warmth Jacket was designed with a stylish cut for a contemporary look as well as complete freedom of movement. In this case, “soft shell” means actual softness – this jacket delivers a cosy warmth and a comfortable, relaxed fit. Despite blocking 98% of the wind, the Power Shield® High Loft fabric also breathes, reducing heat build-up and keeping you comfortable.

POLARTEC® POWER SHIELD® Fabric
Polartec® Power Shield® fabric features a smooth, tightly woven nylon face for abrasion resistance equal or superior to the best shells without the stiffness or noise. Power Shield® also has a polyester velour back that traps air and provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio.
Patent pending Air Control Technology® (ACT) enables the fabric to block 98% of the wind. The remaining 2% is allowed to circulate within the fabric, which greatly enhances moisture vapour transmission - 2 times faster than standard waterproof breathable shells - and improves breathability, reducing the risk of heat-stress build-up.
Power Shield® fabric is constructed with durable water repellency to shed light rain and snow. Spandex fibres allow 4-waystretch for unrestricted freedom of movement.
Garments made from Power Shield® fabric are designed to replace traditional fleece and PTFE shell systems for most outdoor clothing applications, reducing the weight and number of layers needed to insulate and protect
