All new and Built by Michelin be the ultimate long-distance training/race road tyre. Michelin has developed separate front and rear tyres to take into account their specific requirements.
The front tyre carries 30% of the weight load and absorbs 100% of the braking effect. For this reason, Michelin engineers made it a priority to develop a tyre with added grip, capable of providing maximum safety to users on cold, wet surfaces.
The rear tyre carries 70% of the weight load and absorbs 100% of the torque generated by the bike’s forward motion, which affects its efficiency and wear life. In order to achieve consistent performance, the rear tyre now has a longer life, meaning that Michelin Pro Optimum Front and Rear tyres now have comparable lifespans.

The Furry Cyclist
AdamHughes, TOOGOOM I purchased these tyres by accident, didn't see the 25 mm size. However I was thinking about backing my current roadie off to a commuter, ie 25 mm tyres and inverting the stem, pending the arrival of a new race bike, and i must say I am impressed. living in regional Queensland the roads are pretty rough and the bogans love smashing glass on the side of the road.
So the tyres, does a front and rear specific tyres make a difference, I cant tell. But they have survived the Hervey Bay roads so far, so if you want a nice set of 25 mm tyres these seem pretty nice.
