Merino is one of the softest types of wool available, due to finer fibers and being able to weave it at smaller scales. It is well known for regulating body temperature, especially when worn against the skin and the wool provides some warmth, without overheating the wearer like normal wool. Merino also draws moisture away from the skin, which is known as wicking and provides the wearer the ability to stay cool and dry, and also just like most wools, merino contains lanolin which has antibacterial properties ensuring it doesn’t absorb smell.
Do you have trouble with the cold? Or do you just need a little more insulation, but don't want to over heat? Then this Merino Baselayer Tight is ideal for you whether you’re up in the snow, out in the mountain or just wearing it as an under garment on cold days.

Perfect for hiking
DT, Melbourne I bought 3 pairs of these for the Mount Everest Base Camp trek and they performed superbly. I just wore shorts over these and it handled all conditions. On average i was walking 7-8 km a day and it kept my legs cool and wicked moisture away when it was hot. It kept my legs warm in sub zero temps during the early morning hikes too. You may need an extra layer when heading above 5500m altitude though, but this is a perfect base layer.
