Schwalbe’s choice of comical model names might amuse you but there’s no questioning the German no-nonsense approach to tyre technology.
The Fat Albert is a big mixed bag. The tyres roll well, have a decent weight for their volume, have the best sidewall protection in the business and are some of the easiest to set up as tubeless.
Fat Albert: Front: The Fat Albert front version steers well, has good traction, rails decently, and it mates up nicely as a front tyre with many other brands. It is a good all around tyre.
Rear Fat Albert: The Fat Albert Rear provides reliable power transfer. The Rear version has U-Blocks specially positioned to optimize traction and give more control in curves. Fat Albert has tough, resilient lugs, because durability counts more than saving the last gram. Super-fast compound with a combination of low rolling resistance and durability. The tyre shoulders are made softer to improve handling on rough terrain.
